1. Still life - the art of painting or drawing arrangements of objects such as flowers, fruit, etc
2. Sacrifice - the fact of giving up sth important or valuable to you in order to get or do sth that seems more important; sth you give up in this way
3. Crayon - a coloured pencil or stick of soft coloured chalk or wax. used for drawing
4. Plaster- a substance made of lime, water and sand, that is put on walls and ceiling to give them a smooth hard surface
5. Stencil - a thin piece of metal, plastic or card with a design cut out of it, that you put onto a surface and paint over so that the design is left on the surface
6.Canvas - a strong heavy material used for making tents, sails, etc. and artists for painting on
7. Layman - a person who does not have expert knowledge of a particular subject
8. Wax - a solid substance used for making candles, it becomes soft when it is heated
9. Clay - a type of heavy, sticky earth that becomes hard when it is baked and is used to make things such as pots and bricks
10. Easel - a wooden frame to hold a picture while it is being painted
