Education in Britain
Education in Britain is compulsory for everyone. School education has 2 stages: primary education and secondary education. British children start going to school at the age of 4 or 5. They go to a secondary school at the age of 11 or 12. Most children go to comprehensive schools, which take pupils of different abilities without any exams. Some pupils go to grammar schools. Grammar schools are considered prestigious. At the end of the eleventh form pupils take their first public exam for the GCSE. There are also private schools: preparatory schools and public schools. That is all that I wanted to say about education in Britain.
